TecPlot
Tecplot is an integrated plotting program that combines XY plotting with 2D and 3D-surface plots of contours, scatter symbols, vectors, streamlines, and surface shading. The 3DV Extension integrates three-dimensional volumetric visualisation capabilities. Reads data from a file in ASCII or binary format. Create and display plots from up to twelve sets of data simultaneously. DataSets may be divided into subsets, called zones, that can be selectively activated or deactivated with different plotting attributes in each zone. On UNIX and VMS workstations there is virtually no limit on the number of data points. On PC/DOS over 2000 field variables at each data point. Each zone of data can consist of data points that are spatially arranged in a rectangular mesh, a two-dimensional array or in a finite-element mesh. With the 3DV Extension, data points can also be arranged as three-dimensional arrays and finite-element meshes of tetrahedral and brick elements. Can also! read irregular data in a 2D or 3D field. Light-Source Shading. Visualise multi-zone 3D surfaces in either perspective or orthographic views. Alter data and/or create new data using mathematical expressions. Smooth Data. Plot Analytical Functions. Call external C programs to operate on data. Value-Blanking. Probe for the values of variables at any location in a plot by selecting the location with a set of cross hairs using the mouse (or arrow keys). Macros. Image Processing for viewing and transforming image data. Animation. Batch Mode. Supports HP-GL, HP-GL/2, PostScript, encapsulated PostScript, Lasergraphics Language, and several raster image formats including X-window, Sun Raster, PostScript, TIFF, NASA Raster Metafile, etc.
